Major: Water, Minor: Air – Strategist

“A vision without a strategy remains an illusion.”  - Lee Bolman

You are the rare human being who’s able to see and think two or three steps ahead of the people around you. You’re able to keep the tree of possible outcomes that result from a decision in the forefront of your mind, which is no small task. In the office, you’re the collaborative leader who curates the talented people you need on a team. Remember that your talent for thinking ahead is rare. Don’t expect others to be able to match it. Dull the sharp edges of your criticism. Take it easy on people. The teams you create will be a reflection of your own competitive drive, and they will be successful. Just be aware of your need to develop patience.

One in one hundred people are the strategist type. “Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” Sun Tzu said that, and you relate. You can’t imagine taking action without a plan. While there are obvious benefits to possessing this trait, it can get in the way, when it comes to personal relationships. When your partner looks at you across the dinner table and says they want to leave for an unplanned jaunt across South America, just go with it! Once in a while, let the winds push you where they may.
